    Chicago ( City of Chicago ) in Illinois U.S is among the largest cities in the country with a population of around 2.716 million, the largest by population in the midwest. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Chicago is Famous for its architectural skyline with predominant skyscrapers such as the Willis Tower ( formerly known as the Sears Tower and tallest building in the world for 25 years with 110 floors ) and the John Hancock Center with 100 floors.

    In 2018 Chicago was the second most visited city in the US with 58 million domestic and international visitors, behind New York with 65 million. The city is home to several fortune 500 companies and a major hub for international business such as finance, culture, commerce, technology and industry.

    The city of chicago over the years has established itself as a major sports city ranked 3rd in the US for most sporting titles including basketball, baseball, ice hockey and football. The city enjoyed huge success from basketball through the 90s with the chicago bulls winning six nba championships and cementing star players such as michael jordan and scottie pippen as chicago hall of famers. The Chicago blackhawks formed in 1926 have won 6 stanley cup titles and along with the Bulls both play their home games at the United Airlines sponsored united centre based in Chicago’s west side area.

    NFL fans visiting Chicago will get a chance to see the Bears play at soldier field, with the bears being one of the first ever American football teams formed, despite winning only 1 superbowl in 1985 the team is hugely popular worldwide. Baseball in chicago is dominated by the White Sox with 3 MLB Title and the Cubs (formed in 1876 ) who also have 3 championships.

    Boston, Massachusetts

    Boston is the capital and the largest city in Massachusetts with a population just over 694,000, it is one of the oldest cities in the United States having been founded in 1630. Historic sites in Boston include the 2.5 mile freedom trail which played a huge role in the American Revolution, the museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Science. Other famous tourist attractions include the public garden, symphony hall ( home to the legendary boston pops orchestra ) and franklin park zoo.

    With Boston being one of the oldest and most famous cities in the United States it’s no surprise that its home to some of the most successful sports franchises in the world. The Red sox are one of the leading teams in major league baseball having been World Series champions 10 times ( 2018 most recently ), the team plays its home games at Fenway park. For any basketball fans staying in the city then a visit to the garden is a must, being home to the  17 time NBA  champions – the Boston Celtics. 

    To complete the cities huge sporting success Boston is also home to 6 time NFL champions the New England patriots. The Patriots play their home games at Gillette stadium based in Foxborough, Massachusetts. With the Boston Bruins also winning 6 Stanley cup NHL championships it ranks second for professional sports championships among the U.S. cities.

    Boston has a 4 season climate with Spring and fall having generally mild weather, although snow sometimes falls in early spring (Apr). Patriots Day (3rd Mon of Apr) commemorates the start of the Revolutionary War and coincides with the Boston Marathon. festivals during the summer include the Harborfest – a weeklong 4th of July celebration and Italian-American celebrations (late Jul–Aug).
